Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how EnforcingImmigration LLC ("we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Enforcing Immigration (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

Account information: your email address, a display name, and a password. Passwords are handled and stored in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see your plain-text password.
Profile: an optional profile picture (a preset or an image you upload).
Content and activity: comments you post (including whether you chose to post anonymously), votes, and reports you submit.
Support payments: if you send a voluntary payment to support the site, card payments are handled by Stripe (we do not receive or store your full card number), and Bitcoin payments are made over the public Bitcoin network through our own checkout (BTCPay Server). We retain limited records such as that a payment was made and your Supporter status.
Automatically collected: standard log and device data such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps, used for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
Anti-abuse: when you sign up or sign in, a CAPTCHA challenge (Cloudflare Turnstile) helps us block automated abuse.

2. How we use information

To operate the Service — create your account, publish your content, and enable discussion.
To verify your email and secure your account.
To moderate content, enforce our rules, and keep the community safe.
To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse.
To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

3. Anonymous posting and moderator visibility

When you post "anonymously," your display name and profile are hidden from the public and other users, who see only "Anonymous." However, anonymity is not absolute: your content stays linked to your verified account in our systems, and our moderators and administrators can see the account behind anonymous posts. We may access or disclose that information to enforce our Terms, protect people from harm, or comply with the law. Please keep this in mind before posting anything you would not want associated with you.

4. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use advertising cookies. Our CAPTCHA provider may set cookies necessary to distinguish humans from bots.

5. Service providers

We share data with vendors that process it on our behalf, under contract:

Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (data hosted in the United States).
Vercel — application hosting and content delivery.
Postmark — sending transactional email (e.g., confirmation and password-reset messages).
Cloudflare — CAPTCHA / bot protection.
Stripe — card payment processing for voluntary support payments. Stripe receives the payment details you provide at checkout and processes them under its own privacy policy.
Bitcoin network — Bitcoin support payments are processed through our own checkout (BTCPay Server) and settle on the public Bitcoin blockchain; we do not use a third-party crypto custodian.

News content is aggregated from third-party sources and linked to the original; those publishers are not recipients of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep account and content data while your account is active and as needed to operate the Service. When a comment is removed, it is generally "soft-deleted" — hidden from the public but retained and still visible to moderators, so we can preserve context, enforce rules, and meet legal obligations. Content may also be permanently deleted at our discretion or on a valid request. You can delete your own comments; to request deletion of your account and associated personal data, contact us at privacy@enforcingimmigration.com. Residual copies may persist for a limited period in backups.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us at privacy@enforcingimmigration.com; we will respond as required by applicable law.

California residents: the CCPA/CPRA gives you rights to know, access, delete, and correct your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

EEA/UK residents: where the GDPR/UK GDPR applies, our legal bases include performing our contract with you (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (security and moderation), your consent (where requested), and legal obligations. You may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including row-level access controls in our database and encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International users

We operate the Service in the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to that transfer and processing.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date above and, where appropriate, additional notice.
